The Kentucky State Cost-Share Program offers farmers an opportunity to address a variety of water quality problems associated with the farm’s agricultural uses.
This state funded program provides incentive funding ranging from 50 to 75 percent to eligible agricultural producers with no minimum acreage requirement.
There must be an agricultural water quality plan on file at the local Conservation District office and a farm and tract number listed with the Farm Service Agency to be eligible.

Eligible Practices Include:
EQIP provides farmers with an opportunity to address water quality problems on their farms through a cost-share incentive program for most animal related best management practices.
The farm must have a farm and tract number with the Farm Service Agency to be eligible. There is no acreage requirement for this program.
The applicant should have filed a Schedule F form on their recent taxes. The farm must have a minimum amount of livestock present. Cost-share rates range from 30 to 75 percent.

Eligible Practices Include:

WHIP provides land users, with ten or more acres, an opportunity to improve wildlife habitat by installing wildlife friendly best management practices on farms or tracts they control. The primary focus of the program in Kentucky is to restore and create early successional habitats.
The program allows for cost-share assistance, up to 75 percent, for eligible practices. The program is applicable to landowners who enroll four or more acres and have a farm and tract number on file with the Farm Service Agency.

Thispast year the district had their first Vegtable Seed Giveaway and found it very sucessessful. Keep checking on our website for the date time and location of the 2013 giveaway.
Electronic Recycling
Home Beautification Contest
This contest is sponsored by our district to encourage conservation and beautification around the homes in Perry County. All homes, mobile homes, apartments in all cities and communities in Perry County are eligible to enter the contest. Conservation and Beautification around the home will be judged primarily on the use of native and natural materials (trees, shrubs, rocks, etc.) Judging will be in the following categories:
- Landscape harmony
- Native or Natural Materials utilized
- Amount of effort shown
- Enhancement of the home site
- The home itself will not be judged.
- Professional landscaping is not eligible.

Recycling
The Perry County Conservation District coordinates an office-wide recycling program. We are currently working on a recycling program with our local governments. Our office has several recycling containers for use, if you are interested please feel free to call our office more information.
